a. A person entering Indonesian territory may bring their prescribed medication, as long as for personal use and medical reasons, within a reasonable amount considering the length of stay in Indonesia, and completed with below requirements:

  1. A letter from your doctor explaining your health conditions and the details of the medicine (name and dose).
  2. An original/copy of prescription (you may ask this letter from the doctor and/or the chemist dispensing the medication).
  3. The medication should be kept inside its original packaging. Do not remove them into a different container.
  4. Make a declaration to the Immigration upon landing.

Note: Common or over-the-counter medicines such as those for flu, cough, diarrhea as well as most vitamins do not require supporting documents.

Please note that the final approval of the entry of the carried medicines into Indonesia rests with the Custom office.

b. The Embassy can issue a letter informing that an individual is taking medication while travelling to Indonesia. The letter is neither for legality purpose not providing guarantee that you will be exempted from any checks and legal consequences that may arise. It will only provide information to Indonesian authorities that an individual is under medication based on the letter of a doctor and the drug prescriptions.

Starting on 9 October 2012, The Indonesian National Police  SLO/ Police Attaché office of Indonesian Embassy in Canberra is temporarily not accepting  applications for INP police clearance.(Complete applications received prior 9 October 2012 will be processed normally).
